SAFETY EQUIPMENT
EQUIPMENT SELECTED AROUND THE SITE RISKS.
A production compound, temporary kitchen, loading area, electrical installation and public walkway each present different safety requirements.
Equipment selection should therefore be based on the activities, hazards, site conditions and people using each area rather than a standard list applied to every project.
FIRE SAFETY
Fire safety equipment will be strategically positioned throughout the site to provide quick and effective access in the event of an emergency. Suitable fire extinguishers, fire-point stands, protective boxes, and clear identification signage will be provided based on specific site hazards and operational areas. Regular inspections, accessibility, visibility, and compliance with applicable fire safety requirements will also be considered to maintain a safe working environment.
PPE
Suitable personal protective equipment will be provided for contractors, operational personnel, and authorised site visitors based on their activities and level of exposure to site hazards. Requirements may include helmets, safety footwear, high-visibility clothing, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and other task-specific equipment. PPE usage, condition, availability, and compliance will be maintained throughout site operations.
FIRST AID
First-aid facilities will be strategically located across the site to provide immediate assistance in the event of an injury or medical incident. Fully stocked first-aid kits, portable kits, and clearly identified temporary first-aid points will be provided according to workforce numbers, site layout, and operational risks. Regular inspections and replenishment will ensure equipment remains accessible, complete, and ready for use throughout the project.
SAFETY SIGNAGE
Clear and visible safety signage will be positioned throughout the site to communicate hazards, requirements, restrictions, and emergency information. Warning, mandatory, prohibition, fire, emergency, and operational signs will be selected and located according to site activities and risk areas, ensuring personnel and visitors can safely navigate and operate within the site.
TRAFFIC SAFETY
Temporary traffic-control measures will be implemented to manage vehicle and pedestrian movement safely throughout the site. Cones, warning lights, posts, barriers, and other suitable equipment will be positioned around access routes, crossings, restricted areas, and work zones to improve visibility, guide traffic, and reduce the risk of incidents during operations.
CABLE PROTECTION
Suitable cable protection systems will be provided at temporary service crossings to protect electrical and communication cables from vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Heavy-duty cable ramps and covers will be positioned where required, considering load capacity, crossing locations, accessibility, and site conditions to prevent cable damage, reduce trip hazards, and maintain safe site operations
SPILL CONTROL
Effective measures will be established to prevent, contain, and manage accidental spills throughout the site. Appropriate spill kits, absorbent materials, drip trays, and containment equipment will be located near generators, fuel storage areas, refuelling points, and other high-risk locations, allowing prompt action while protecting surrounding work areas and the environment.
GROUND PROTECTION
Temporary trackway systems will be installed to create stable and reliable access routes for vehicles, machinery, and site operations. The layout and type of ground protection will be selected to suit traffic loads and existing ground conditions, helping to minimise surface damage, prevent ground deterioration, and maintain safe access throughout the project.
SITE SAFETY PLANNING
SAFETY EQUIPMENT PLANNED WITH THE SITE.
Equipment is most effective when its requirements and locations are considered before the site becomes operational.
Evolution Site can work with organisers, production teams, contractors and appointed HSE personnel to incorporate practical safety equipment into the wider site plan.
This may include identifying suitable positions for fire points, first-aid equipment, safety signage, traffic-control equipment, cable crossings and temporary ground protection.
COORDINATED WITH PEOPLE, VEHICLES AND INFRASTRUCTURE.
Temporary sites can include overlapping pedestrian routes, vehicle movements, electrical services, generators, catering facilities, workshops and construction activities.
Planning considerations can include pedestrian and vehicle interfaces, loading and logistics areas, emergency routes and access, active construction zones, temporary power compounds, kitchens and catering facilities, contractor work areas, cable and service crossings, restricted operational areas, and public and back-of-house boundaries.
Safety equipment can then be positioned in coordination with the approved HSE, traffic, fire and operational plans.
Equipment planning and supply do not replace the project-specific assessments or approvals required from the appointed competent professionals and relevant authorities.
FIRE SAFETY
TEMPORARY FIRE EXTINGUISHERS AND FIRE POINTS.
Evolution Site supplies powder, foam, water, CO₂ and wet-chemical fire extinguishers in several capacities.
Fire-point equipment can also include stands, boxes and signs to keep extinguishers visible, identified and accessible across temporary compounds and working areas.
The required extinguisher type, rating, quantity and position must reflect the specific fire risks and the project’s approved fire-safety arrangements.
SELECTED FOR THE IDENTIFIED FIRE RISK.
Electrical installations, generators, kitchens, offices, workshops and storage areas can require different types of fire extinguisher.
Evolution Site can supply and position the equipment specified for each area. Depending on the agreed scope, support can include extinguisher supply, fire-point stands and boxes, fire-point signage, positioning around temporary facilities, routine visual checks, repositioning following approved layout changes, and replacement equipment where required and available.
Extinguisher selection and fire-point locations should be determined through the appropriate project fire-risk assessment and approved fire-safety plan.

FIRE-POINT EQUIPMENT
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
PPE FOR CONTRACTORS, TEAMS, VISITORS.
Evolution Site can supply everyday personal protective equipment for temporary sites, including safety helmets, high-visibility clothing, protective eyewear, gloves and hearing protection.
Visitor PPE can also be prepared for clients, consultants and other authorised personnel requiring temporary access to active working areas.
PPE can be hired or supplied as part of a wider site-safety package, subject to the product type and project requirements.
SELECTED FOR THE IDENTIFIED TASK AND ENVIROMENT
PPE requirements can change between mobilisation, build-up, live operations and de-rig as site activities and access conditions develop.
The appropriate equipment should be determined by project risk assessments and site requirements, considering work activities, hazards, contractor needs, site access, workforce and visitor numbers, operating conditions, project duration, and any replacement or replenishment needs.
Evolution Site can coordinate quantities and everyday replacement stock around the confirmed requirements. PPE is the final layer of protection and should not be used as a substitute for eliminating or controlling a hazard where other measures are practicable.
PPE can include safety helmets, high-visibility clothing, protective eyewear, work gloves, hearing protection and prepared PPE sets for temporary site visitors.
SAFETY SIGNAGE
WARNING, MANDATORY AND EMERGENCY SIGNAGE
Evolution Site can provide temporary safety and operational signage for entrances, compounds, work areas, pedestrian routes, vehicle routes and temporary infrastructure.
Signage can communicate hazards, PPE requirements, access restrictions, fire-point locations, first-aid facilities, traffic instructions and project-specific site rules.
INFORMATION AT THE POINT IT IS NEEDED.
Signs should be positioned where people need to act on the information.
PPE requirements should be displayed before entry into the relevant area. Vehicle warnings should appear before pedestrian and traffic routes interact. Fire and first-aid equipment should be clearly identified at its location.
Site signage can cover warnings, mandatory PPE, restricted activities, fire and first-aid points, emergency information, traffic management, site rules and project-specific requirements. Signage can also be repositioned or updated as site layouts, access routes and operational needs change.
FIRST AID + SPILL RESPONSE
FIRST-AID AND SPILL-CONTROL EQUIPMENT.
Evolution Site can supply first-aid kits, temporary first-aid points, spill kits, absorbent materials, drip trays and containment equipment for temporary working environments.
Equipment can be distributed between offices, compounds, workshops, welfare areas, generators, fuel-storage locations and other identified operational risks.
POSITIONED CLOSE TO THE REQUIREMENT.
First-aid kits can be located within site offices, production compounds, workshops and other appropriate operational areas. They complement rather than replace the professional medical provision required by the project.
Spill-response equipment can be positioned close to fuel, oils, generators, workshops, plant and other relevant materials.
The selected spill equipment should be compatible with the substances present and the approved environmental and emergency procedures.
Services can include general workplace and temporary-site first-aid kits, portable first-aid kits, temporary first-aid points, general spill kits, oil and fuel spill kits, absorbent materials, drip trays, and disposal and containment equipment.
Used spill-response materials must be handled and disposed of according to the substance involved and the project’s approved environmental procedures.
TRAFFIC + PEDESTRIAN SAFETY
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC-CONTROL EQUIPMENT.
Evolution Site supplies cones, traffic batons, warning lights, hook-pole posts and spring posts for temporary traffic and pedestrian-control applications.
Equipment can support vehicle routes, crossings, loading zones, work areas and temporary exclusion zones as part of the project’s approved traffic-management plan.
ROUTES THAT ARE CLEAR TO DRIVERS AND PEDESTRIANS.
Temporary traffic-control equipment can be positioned around entrances, service roads, loading areas, pedestrian crossings, restricted routes, parking areas, work zones and contractor compounds. Layouts can also be adjusted as vehicle and pedestrian movements change throughout build-up, live operations and de-rig.
Layouts may need to change between build-up, live operations and de-rig as vehicle and pedestrian priorities develop.
Evolution Site can supply and position equipment according to the agreed plan. The design and approval of formal traffic-management arrangements remain with the project’s appointed competent parties and relevant authorities.
TRAFFIC SAFETY EQUIPMENT
CABLE + GROUND PROTECTION
CABLE RAMPS AND TEMPORARY TRACKWAY.
Evolution Site supplies one, two, three and five-channel cable ramps together with temporary trackway panels.
Cable ramps can protect temporary cables at suitable crossings, while trackway can support access over soft, sensitive or repeatedly trafficked ground.
Equipment selection should reflect the users, loads, route conditions and intended application.
PROTECTION SELECTED FOR THE ROUTE.
Pedestrian walkways, accessible routes and vehicle crossings may require different cable-routing or protection arrangements.
Before using a cable ramp, the project team should consider whether the cable can be rerouted to avoid the crossing. Where a crossing remains necessary, the product must be suitable for the expected users, vehicles, cable quantities and operating environment.
Ground protection can be planned for delivery routes, plant access, temporary compounds, vehicle movements, installation areas and vulnerable ground. The appropriate trackway should be selected based on the surface, vehicle loads and intended use.

OPERATIONAL HSE SUPPORT
SITE PERSONNEL TO SUPPORT AGREED CONTROLS.
Evolution Site can provide experienced site-safety and HSE personnel to support the practical implementation of agreed project controls.
Personnel can work alongside organisers, production teams, contractors and the appointed HSE structure during mobilisation, build-up, live operations and de-rig.
The duties, reporting lines, authority and working hours are defined within the agreed project scope.
PRACTICAL MONITORING ON ACTIVE SITES.
Depending on the appointment, site personnel can support safety inspections, equipment checks, PPE control, housekeeping, traffic and pedestrian management, contractor coordination, and action tracking to help maintain safe and organised site operations.
Evolution’s support does not change or replace the statutory, contractual or professional responsibilities assigned to clients, contractors, designers, appointed HSE personnel or other duty holders.
PROJECT PHASES
SUPPORT FROM MOBILISATION TO DE-RIG.
The activities and risks present on a temporary site change throughout the project.
Mobilisation and build-up can involve construction, lifting, plant, temporary power and intensive contractor movements. Live operations introduce public circulation and controlled interfaces with back-of-house infrastructure. De-rig returns the site to a construction and logistics environment.
Safety equipment and operational controls may therefore need to change between phases.
EQUIPMENT ADJUSTED AS THE SITE DEVELOPS
Depending on the scope, Evolution Site can reposition, supplement, replace or remove safety equipment as site requirements change through mobilisation, build-up, pre-opening, live operations, overnight maintenance and de-rig. This allows safety and operational controls to adapt throughout every stage of the project.
Changes affecting fire safety, medical provision, traffic management, emergency routes or formal HSE controls should be reviewed by the appropriate appointed professionals before implementation.
COORDINATED SAFETY PACKAGES
INDIVIDUAL EQUIPMENT OR A COMPLETE SITE PACKAGE.
Clients can hire individual fire extinguishers, PPE, signs, cones, cable ramps or other safety equipment without appointing Evolution Site for the wider project.
Where more support is required, several equipment categories can be combined with planning, delivery, positioning, inspections, replenishment and operational personnel.
EQUIPMENT, POSITIONING AND SUPPORT
Available services can include reviewing site requirements, specifying suitable equipment and quantities, supplying and positioning approved equipment, carrying out practical checks, and replenishing or replacing items as project needs change.
Where Evolution Site is also providing power, cabins, fencing or site vehicles, safety equipment can be coordinated with the location and operation of that infrastructure.
This does not remove the need for independent professional assessment, formal approval or competent specialist appointments where required.
